Due to the Net-Zero target, carbon emissions of the boilers need to be reduced and eventually removed entirely both for conventional types and boilers powered by alternative fuels. This has further encouraged huge growth in the global Waste to Energy sector which is predicted to have a CAGR of 4.6% from 2020 to 2027.
This year’s user group will take place within the context of aiming towards a zero-carbon future covering topics including emissions, CCS and preparing boiler technology for net-zero.
It will address issues relating to all aspects of the design, operation, and maintenance of power boilers (fired boiler plant associated with power generation) with a wide scope of plant areas and fuels, including waste, biomass, and fossil fuels.
The 2021 user group will also consider the impact of Brexit on power boilers, from the revised Industrial Emissions Directive BREF to procurement of replacement plant components.
In addition, many of the more recently built boiler plant e.g., energy from waste and biomass have seen or are planning their first round of substantive pressure part replacements and/or other modifications/improvements and the event will aim to consider the challenges and opportunities associated with this.
