FAQs

What are the Benefits of Thermal Spray Coatings for Heat Exchangers?

Thermal spray coatings offer several benefits for heat exchangers, including increased efficiency, extended lifespan, and improved performance. The coatings can also help to reduce maintenance and repair costs by protecting the heat exchanger from damage caused by wear and corrosion.

What is HVTS?

High Velocity Thermal Spray (HVTS) is IGS’ proprietary alloy cladding which upgrades existing metallurgy to higher alloys. It acts as a reliable corrosion and erosion-resistant barrier which also reduces fouling in heat exchangers.

HVTS atomizes the proprietary wire feedstock in a supersonic gas stream, producing a cladding that consists of flat and tightly packed micro-sized particles. In contrast, conventional thermal spray has additional porosity which can lead to permeation and failure of the thermal spray.

Which Heat Exchanger Components Can You Clad?

We can clad any heat exchanger components. Some frequently requested components include:

  • Dollar Plates
  • Channel Heads
  • Heat Exchanger Shell
  • Tube sheets

How Much Does This Service Cost?

Our workshop thermal spray heat exchanger cladding service varies in cost. It is dependent on the size and quantity of components, expedited shipping requirements, and the location of the application. To receive a tailored quote within 24 hours, contact our HVTS workshop.
