Digesters & Flash Tanks

Metalspray® Cladding for Digesters and Flash Tanks

IGS has decades of experience providing corrosion protection for carbon steel batch and continuous digesters and flash tanks. We frequently utilize our technology to mitigate corrosion on the digester shell and on the Circ Welds. These are units where a (HAZ) Heat Affected Zone can be created during the construction process, leaving the circ weld susceptible to (SCC) Stress Corrosion Cracking.

We couple our technical expertise and our application experience together, to ensure our customers receive long term reliable corrosion protection solutions, which increases both the Batch and Continuous Digesters reliability. Our execution teams understand the dynamics of working in an outage environment and we appreciate our customers need to meet their critical path maintenance schedules. At IGS, we strive to deliver the Metalspray® Cladding Systems on time, with the highest quality and safely standards in the industry.

IGS Experience Field

IGS has over the 35 years of experience working in the Pulp & Paper Industry. Over the past 35 years we have provided our Metalspray® Cladding Services to many of the leading Pulp & Paper Companies around the globe. Our team of full time experienced project managers, superintendents, foremen, safety managers, and HVTS technicians ensures that IGS is always ready to deliver high quality in-situ Metalspray® Cladding applications, anytime and anywhere.

We are a global company we do not rely on increasing our pool of technicians with part time help in the spring and fall and then reducing our pool of technicians in the winter and summer. It is always outage season somewhere around the globe, so we maintain a strong experienced workforce year around.

Surface Solutions

IGS Cladding Technology

Our core technology Di-Arc 360 is utilized to provide a field installed corrosion resistant alloys, used to mitigate corrosion in digester process environments. Our Di-Arc 360 cladding systems utilize known corrosion resistance alloys to provide a true barrier of protection on the carbon steel and circ weld surfaces.

Stress corrosion cracking (SCC) is the growth of crack formation in a corrosive environment. It can lead to unexpected sudden failure of normally ductile metals subjected to a tensile stress, especially at elevated temperature. To prevent SCC utilizing Di-Arc 360 we apply a coating that provides a barrier between the process environment and the HAZ found in the circ weld, therefore preventing the chemical/metal reaction which leads to stress corrosion cracking.
