High Velocity Thermal Spray (HVTS) cladding uses high alloy materials and proprietary technology developed by IGS to mitigate ID corrosion and erosion and extend the useful operating life of process vessels, drums, and heat exchangers.
IGS has been solving metal wastage issues in the Houston and Gulf region for more than 35 years, offering refiners and chemical facilities a local metal spray coating service; you can choose to send your components to us, or our project teams can apply HVTS on-site at your facility.
With decades of engineering and application experience, IGS is the leading provider of metal spray coating services in the Houston area and beyond. Our aim is to provide the highest quality, cost-effective coatings for any application. Whether you need to repair components, improve wear resistance or protect them from corrosion, local IGS technicians are on hand to deliver fast, effective, and quality surface protection solutions.

High Velocity Thermal Spray (HVTS) is IGS’ proprietary metal spray material and service which upgrades existing substrates to higher alloys. It is a reliable ID corrosion and erosion-resistant barrier which can withstand all types of damage mechanisms found in the refining/chemical market.
Unlike High Velocity Oxygen Fuel (HVOF) coatings, HVTS can be applied in the field. It differs from typical low velocity thermal spray by atomizing the proprietary wire feedstock in a supersonic gas stream, producing a cladding with a combination of high density, low porosity, and high bond strength, making it suitable for applications requiring high resistance to corrosion and erosion conditions.
