It’s no secret that oil refineries, petrochemical, and chemical facilities contribute significantly to nitrogen oxides (NOx) and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. These emissions negatively affect our environment, contributing to climate change and other adverse ecological effects. Fired heaters alone emit an estimated 400 to 500 million tons of CO2 annually, with a substantial 73% of average refinery CO2 emissions stemming from combustion.
The world has seen a drastic increase in CO2 emissions since the Industrial Revolution, quadrupling from 6 billion tonnes in 1950 to more than 34 billion tonnes annually today. Although legislation and increased awareness have slightly slowed the growth of emissions, we are yet to reach the peak.
At Integrated Global Services (IGS), we’re deeply committed to making a positive impact on the world. Our approach to ESG centers on creating sustainable value for all stakeholders while caring for our planet and communities.
We contribute to a more sustainable world by providing unique solutions for mission-critical assets that enable customers to optimize their efficiency, reduce their emissions, maximize their equipment life to conserve natural resources, and support their transition to renewable energy.
Our products and services significantly decrease emissions of
NOx by as much as 30% and CO2 by up to 15%.
“ESG is part of who we are as a company and defines a significant part of our mission. Long before we had ESG commitments, IGS’ core values created impact for our stakeholders.
We are proud of the progress we have made and look forward to continuing our ESG journey and delivering value to our customers, employees, investors and the communities in which we live and operate.”
Rich Crawford,
Chief Executive Officer, IGS
We understand that implementing effective ESG initiatives is not without its complexities, especially given the reliance of many zindustries and economies on hydrocarbon-derived products. Our commitment to ESG goes beyond reducing emissions; we aim to support industries in navigating the balance between operational demands and environmental responsibility.
We proudly champion diversity, with 54% of our employees being People of Color (POC), and we continue to promote inclusivity within our ranks. 49% of our employees are stationed outside the United States, with 27% based in developing countries.
Our commitment to employee growth is unmatched, with 75% of career advancements happening within our organization. We ensure our field technicians globally receive an average of 1,000 hours of training in their first year. Safety remains a priority as we maintain ISO 45001:2018 certification and hold a Four Star safety rating with NOSA.
In late 2022, IGS partnered with Homes of Hope to build homes in northern Mexico. The partnership enabled 18 experienced and new employees to travel to the project site and physically build a home for a local family in a community close to where many of our people lived.
In addition to the volunteer time, IGS has provided monetary donations to support the purchase of site building materials and essential goods for the home. In the next several years, IGS leadership envisages conducting similar experiences that enable team-building and community investment utilizing our collective gifts and talents.
