Expertise: Corrosion mitigation for oil & gas assets, High Velocity Thermal Spray (HVTS) claddings, cladding inspection, and O&G business development across Asia Pacific

Pete Johnson is the Director of O&G Business Development for Integrated Global Services (IGS) in Asia Pacific, based in Thailand. With more than 15 years of experience in the corrosion mitigation industry, Pete brings a background in mechanical engineering and deep technical knowledge of protective cladding systems to his work, where he partners with O&G Majors across the APAC region. He is a NACE Level 3 Certified Coating Inspector, one of the most rigorous certifications in corrosion control, and is known for his ability to connect complex technical solutions with real-world operational challenges faced by oil, gas, and petrochemical operators.

Pete’s primary focus at IGS is educating and advising O&G clients across Asia Pacific on the range of corrosion mitigation technologies available, and identifying the right solution for each application, whether that involves IGS’s High Velocity Thermal Spray (HVTS®) cladding, or other surface protection systems for process vessels, heat exchangers, and related equipment.

Credentials

Before joining IGS, Pete spent nine years at Belzona Polymerics, where he served as Engineering Manager. During his tenure at Belzona, he built a strong foundation in polymer-based repair and protection systems for industrial assets, working across engineering and business development functions. His combination of technical credibility and commercial acumen made him a natural fit for IGS’s expanding APAC operations.

Pete joined IGS in 2021 as part of a strategic investment in Asia Pacific growth. In his Director role, he is responsible for driving O&G business development across the region, working closely with operators to assess asset integrity challenges, recommend fit-for-purpose corrosion protection solutions, and support project execution. His work encompasses the full scope of IGS’s APAC O&G offering, with a particular emphasis on High Velocity Thermal Spray (HVTS®) applications for process vessels and corrosion-prone equipment.

The technologies Pete works with include:

  • HVTS® (High Velocity Thermal Spray) Cladding — on-site metallic cladding applied to process vessels, heat exchangers, and piping to arrest corrosion and extend equipment life without heat input or vessel replacement
  • NACE-Compliant Coating Inspection — as a NACE Level 3 Certified Coating Inspector, Pete brings a rigorous, standards-based approach to coating specification, quality assurance, and inspection programs
  • Technical Corrosion Assessments — pre-project evaluations to determine optimal surface protection strategies for specific corrosion mechanisms and operating environments

A naturally personable and effective communicator, Pete is a sought-after voice on corrosion mitigation topics in the APAC region. He has presented at leading industry events, including a presentation at the Ammonia and Carbon Capture Asia (ACCA) conference in 2025 titled “Improving Reliability by Upgrading

Metallurgy Utilising High Velocity Thermal Spray,” and represents IGS at the International Thermal Spray and Surface Engineering Conference (ITS&CC) in Bangkok.
