Expertise: Cetek® high emissivity ceramic coatings, fired heater efficiency, process tube protection, and online maintenance services
David Weintz is the Director of Thermal Solutions at Integrated Global Services (IGS), overseeing the company’s Cetek® ceramic coating division, one of the most established names in fired heater efficiency and process tube protection. With a background rooted in Cetek’s North American operations and a deep understanding of high emissivity coating technologies, David helps refineries, petrochemical plants, and industrial facilities improve heat transfer efficiency, reduce fuel consumption, and lower CO₂ and NOₓ emissions.
His work spans the full suite of IGS Cetek thermal solutions, from pre-application technical evaluations to the delivery of high emissivity ceramic coatings for refractory and tube surfaces, dual emissivity systems, and Hot-tek™ online maintenance services across global client sites.
Credentials
David’s career in thermal solutions is grounded in his work at Cetek, where he served as Manager of North American Operations, building deep expertise in the application and performance optimization of ceramic coatings for fired heaters and tubular reformers. When IGS acquired Cetek in 2017, merging two of the world’s leading critical asset maintenance and coating technology companies, David transitioned into his current role as Director of Thermal Solutions at IGS.
In this capacity, David leads the North American delivery of IGS’s Cetek product line, which has been applied at more than 200 refining and chemical processing sites worldwide. Cetek were the original pioneers to develop and introduce high emissivity ceramic coatings to industrial applications, a technology that has become an accepted standard for improving radiant heat transfer efficiency in fired heaters and tubular reformers.
The technologies David oversees include:
- Cetek® High Emissivity Ceramic Refractory Coatings — applied to refractory surfaces in fired heater radiant sections, typically delivering 5-15% improvement in heat transfer efficiency
- Cetek® Process Tube Coatings — thin-film ceramic coatings for process tubes that prevent oxidation, carburization, and scale formation while extending service life
- Dual Emissivity Coating System — optimizes heat flux distribution, reduces coking rate, and extends run length between de-coke activities
- Hot-tek™ Online Maintenance Services — including hot refractory repair, online inspection, hot convection cleaning, tube descaling, and tube stabilization performed while units remain in operation
By helping clients avoid unplanned downtime and maximize the return on their existing assets, David’s work delivers measurable ROI, including fuel savings, increased throughput, reduced bridgewall temperature (BWT) limitations, and meaningful reductions in CO₂ and NOₓ emissions.
David holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Kent State University
