Yelena Rojas is a surface engineering and metallurgical expert specializing in High Velocity Thermal Spray (HVTS) and weld overlay technologies for corrosion and wear protection.
With over 20 years of combined experience in R&D, technical sales, and asset integrity management, she leads innovation and business development efforts for IGS’s Asset Integrity Solutions, helping clients extend equipment life and improve reliability in high-temperature, corrosive environments.
Credentials
Yelena began her career at RWTH Aachen’s Institut für Oberflächentechnik (2001–2006), where she led national and international R&D projects on brazing alloys and surface protection. Her work focused on advanced joining and coating technologies, alongside mentoring engineering students and contributing to technical seminars.
In 2007, she joined Castolin Iberica as Coating Product Manager for Iberia, driving business development for thermal spray, welding, and brazing solutions. She supported clients across Spain and Portugal in optimizing wear and corrosion protection systems, while also delivering technical training and leading product integration initiatives.
From 2011 to 2019, Yelena held several leadership roles including:
- Regional Sales Manager & Technical Manager for Europe
- EU Sales Director
During this period, she:
- Managed large-scale asset reliability and repair projects across Europe
- Led cross-functional technical teams specializing in surface restoration and overlay welding
- Designed and implemented regional sales strategies focused on growth and client retention
In 2019, Yelena was appointed Director – Business Development & Technology, integrating technical innovation with commercial strategy to expand advanced surface protection solutions across the EMEA region.
In 2025, she joined Integrated Global Services (IGS) as Director – Asset Integrity Solutions, where she continues to drive adoption of HVTS and weld overlay technologies to solve corrosion and erosion challenges for global clients.
